Is Monday too much? Time to choose.

Hello Monday. What's it like for you, being at the start of the week?
We may all have a bit of longing for the weekend to be longer. A slight lie in, another day to spend with the family, or on a bike ride, or doing some gardening.

But does this morning bring panic over everything you have to get done, guilt over not working this weekend, stress over having to deal with a colleague whose behaviour you read as negative, worries about what others will think of you (you might feel certain they blame you or don't like you, anyway)? Then it might be time to make a choice.
This isn't necessarily about leaving the job - it's not always possible or even desirable. It's about taking back your control.
You have choice over how you react to what goes on around you. Of course it's not going to happen just by reading this post. You'll need to untwist the racing thoughts and find ways to observe and learn from the way you feel. Instead of imagining what colleagues think, you'll need to get curious and have better conversations, to understand what's going on for them, too - or accept that you don't know.
For me, knowing that I had the capacity to change how I relate to the world was immensely powerful. I could get to work on making that 'relating' different from what it was. What are you choosing today?
